OAKLAND — Three boys, one 16 years old and two 17,  were injured in an East Oakland shooting Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Two were shot and the other was injured by flying glass, authorities said.  None of the injuries were considered life threatening and they were all in stable condition.

The shooting was reported at about 2:43 a.m. Tuesday in the area of 21st Avenue and International Boulevard.

Police responding to a ShotSpotter alert found at least a dozen shell casings and one parked vehicle hit by gunfire but no victims.

It turned out that the three boys, all apparent San Francisco residents, had gotten their own rides to hospitals in other cities.

Authorities said the three were mostly uncooperative but officers were able to determine they were shot at while sitting in a car and were able to drive from the scene.

They would not tell officers if they were shot at by someone in another vehicle or by someone on the street, authorities said.

Police are trying to determine why the three were in Oakland and what motivated the shooting.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
