OAKLAND — A 23-year-old man was shot and critically injured in a downtown Oakland bar early Saturday, police said.
Around 1 a.m., police were called to the Gallery Art Bar on 14th and Harrison streets for a report of a shooting, authorities said. An argument had broken out inside the bar, which led to multiple shots being fired, one of which struck the young man.
Police said it was unclear whether the man was hit by a stray bullet or was involved in the initial dispute. He was in stable condition as of Saturday morning.
In the aftermath of the shooting, an undisclosed amount of bar proceeds were also stolen, police said.
Authorities did not release detailed descriptions of suspects. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the the arrest of the suspected shooter.
