Man killed in Pittsburg highway crash

PITTSBURG — A 41-year-old Sacramento man was killed Monday morning in a single vehicle crash on Highway 4, authorities said.

Authorities have not yet released the man’s name.

The crash happened at about 7:58 a.m. Monday eastbound on Highway 4 just east west of Loveridge Road, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP Officer Brandon Correia said the man was driving a black Nissan Ultima that overturned along the right shoulder area, causing the man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, to be ejected.  He  was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP said it is unknown at the time if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Some traffic lanes were shut down while the California Highway Patrol investigated and all lanes were reopened by 9:08 a.m.
