OAKLAND — A 59-year-old woman was wounded in a drive-by shooting early Monday at a West Oakland homeless camp that has been the scene of other violence, some deadly, authorities said.
The woman was in stable condition.
The shooting happened at about 1:24 a.m. Monday at the camp in the 2300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
The woman, who lives at the camp, told police said she was sitting outside when someone in a passing vehicle began shooting at her. She was wounded in the leg.
