OAKLAND — Three people are being sought after carjacking a woman’s compact SUV at a Rockridge BART station parking lot Tuesday, authorities said Wednesday.
The three ran off after the vehicle stalled before they could leave the parking lot, officials said.
BART officials said the three males confronted a 33-year-old woman in the station’s east parking lot at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday and forcibly took her 2018 Mazda CX-5. There was no indication a weapon was involved.
Officials said that, for unknown reasons, the SUV stalled before leaving the lot, and the suspects took off on foot.
The woman complained of soreness but refused medical treatment, officials said.
BART said police are interviewing witnesses, reviewing video surveillance and processing fingerprints from the car in an effort to identify the three males. Detailed descriptions of the carjackers were not released.
