OAKLAND — A Chase Bank branch in Chinatown was robbed Tuesday morning, police said.
Police said a man came into the bank at 401 Eighth St. about 9:30 a.m., gave a teller a note and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No weapon was seen and no one was hurt.
The robber is described as black in his 30s, about 5 feet 9 and between 150 and 170 pounds with short black hair as well as some facial hair. He wore a black hoodie, blue jeans and red shoes and carried a gray backpack, authorities said.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $2,500 in reward money for information leading to the robber’s arrest. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
